Strain Origin
The variety is originally from central Mexico. It was used in ceremonies by the Mazatapec indigenous people to connect with spirits and the divine as well as to heal their ailments. It holds an especially important significance in the microscopy community as this variety and their spores were the first Psilocybe species to be introduced to the Western world by an indigenous Mazatapec woman making it a must have for any spore collector.
Features
Sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia, purple to brownish spores. Caps are usually 50mm and more rarely being smaller.
