Strain Origin
Golden Teacher is one of the classics. This is a highly sought-after P. cubensis strain that first appeared in the 1980’s. From there, its popularity in the microscopy community has just continued to grow exponentially. Exact origin is not known, however, rumors suggest that this variety was first found on a farm in Georgia. Original specimens were said to have very thick, robust stems.
Difficulty
Golden Teacher is a very easy strain to work with, relatively. For context, it is more difficult than B+ (barely), but much easier than that of Penis Envy or Tidal Wave. Keep in mind that results may vary. No matter your skill-level, there are few strains more rewarding than this. Golden teacher is highly resilient, welcoming, and makes a great option for any skill level.
Spore Features
The spores of Golden teacher mushrooms are dark purplish to black, and sub ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. Caps are generally dark spore printers and 40-60mm in diameter. This strain provides ample research material. Viewing GT spores under a microscope is a spectacle worth experiencing.
Rarity
Golden Teacher is not rare at all in regard to its availability. However, it is rare to find GT spores with proven, tested genetics. Many vendors will provide mixed bags, old / unviable spores, or give you a different species all together.
