What are magic truffle spores?
Magic truffle spores are no different than the spores of other mushrooms, except for the fact that the resulting fruit-bodies can form a sclerotia (aka truffle), which is a hard mycelial mass that forms underground. In the wild, this “truffle” has potent attributes and lots of active psilocybin. In the wild, these spores can also form full mushrooms after the sclerotia step is achieved. While growing them is federally illegal and should not be attempted, their spores make for some very interesting microscopy!
We chose three strains that are approachable for beginners, have the genetics to hypothetically produce large / potent magic truffles, with spores that are sterile and easy to research.
DIFFICULTY
Each of these strains offer a great way to delve into the world of truffle producing mushrooms, as it is quite quick and rewarding to research. While they are a bit trickier to study than Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms, they are arguably more rewarding!!
SPORE FEATURES
The spores of these strains are dark purple-black. The spores are subrhombic to subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia, and purple/black in deposit. They are fairly light spore producers.
RARITY
These magic truffle spores are rare both in the wild and in the marketplace. While they may be plentiful in nature, finding them is no easy feat, and thus actually possessing them is hard to accomplish. In the marketplace, we are one of the few vendors to offer these magic truffle strains!!
