These rankings were based off of a balance between anecdotal experiences, 5000+ social media survey results, and a screening of leading scientific papers on the topic. Clearly, Penis envy and its related strains take the crown as the most potent strains, with Jedi Mind Fuck next up. While It may appear as if #5 JMF is wildly more potent than #19 Colombian, the gradient isn't very steep between the non-penis envy strains. What is the Most Potent Strain of P. Cubensis
There's a common saying in the mycology world that goes "a cube is a cube" implying that no matter the strain, the bizarre features, or genetic selection, that all Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms have the same potency. This isn't completely true. Rather, we'd say "a cube is a cube, except for Penis Envy". Penis Envy, and its related strains like Albino Penis Envy are undoubtedly more potent than other strains.
Do Mushrooms Of The Same Strain Have The Same Potency?
We've already explained that not all strains of P. Cubensis have the same strength, as Penis Envy and related cultivars top them all. However, what about multiple mushrooms of the same exact strain? Do they all have the same potency? The answer is no, usually not. You can cultivate a flush of multiple Golden Teacher mushrooms, for example, and get fruits that range from low to high potency, all from a single spore syringe/print. One tiny mushroom could have a high concentration of Psilocybin, while a giant mushroom has only very little. Lastly, it may serve you to know that cloning & isolating fruits based on different traits is the only way to ever have a relatively consistent potency amongst all of your mushrooms in a flush.
